about us...

Baladi was started by a couple of Egyptian-American cousins, Hani and Ahmed Desouky, with a passion for food and a love of their moms’ home-cooked traditional Egyptian meals. They wanted others to experience the flavors of Egypt with the cozy feeling of eating at home.  The name, Baladi, was a natural choice to honor their mothers’ cooking, as it translates to “my home” or “my country” So they decided to keep their menu simple and selected the most popular Egyptian street food items, putting a healthy, local, sustainable twist on the ingredients—halal meat, locally grown produce and the freshest ingredients as well as the best pita bread in town delivered fresh, daily.  So take a look at the menu and try our take on our baladi's style of cooking.
